Pizza night!

Pizza night! It's always a blast when we make pizza at home. I love mixing different ingredients and trying new types of pizza. This evening we tried making pizza on Naan bread and it was actually better than the Pillsbury pizza dough! So here's to some delicious pizza and many more of these nights to come! Enjoy the pics :)

I love using the fresh vegetables on the pizza! It makes it feel like it's more healthy ;)

I bought way to much basil, but this bag was the same price as the smaller one! Anybody have some recipes that call for basil??

This is the mixture I spread over the pizza dough. It has minced garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Italian seasonings and some of the fresh basil chopped up.

Andy and I have this weird love for banana peppers, so I bought a jar of them and sliced them up and added as many would fit on the pizza.

Here is the Pillsbury wheat pizza dough. I won't be using this again. It never got crispy enough for my liking, and it had more of a bread taste to it than a pizza dough taste.

Mushroom, banana pepper, tomato, basil and goat cheese pizza on Naan bread. It was as good, if not better, than a restaurant style flatbread pizza.

Life Lately, and my decision to continue blogging.

I contemplated throwing in the towel and calling it quits on my blog, but after some thought I have decided against it. My initial reasoning for wanting to stop blogging was because I felt I didn't have enough cool or exciting content, but then I realized that I was forgetting my original purpose for having a blog! My blog was started to document my life just as it is. So if from time to time the content is lackluster or a little boring, that is okay. My life isn't always action-packed and bursting with fun, so I should not make it seem like it is by only documenting the fun times. I want to give a real picture of my life so that years from now I can read back through my blog and see exactly what I was doing in my 20's and 30's.

So this is what I have been up to lately: A little bit of cooking, some exercise, family time and an entire week with Kennedy!

My dog knows how to smile for the camera!

House Sitting in Boerne

For the past ten days a friend of mine has been housing sitting for some family friends who went on vacation to Lake Tahoe. I was told they had an awesome house with a lot of fun toys to play with, but I didn't know HOW AWESOME it actually was until I got there.

So for the past two Saturdays Kennedy and I drove out to the house to play with friends and enjoy the scenery. This house is straight out of Texas Monthly. It is cozy, but at the same time elegant!

This is a cute and creative way to take notes, memorize scripture, etc. I just loved this idea!

This is the rabbit Kennedy tried to attack. Luckily for the cage nothing could happen, but the poor rabbit must have been scared to death!

I think she was curious and it came across a little too aggressive!

This 4-wheeler thing was the best past of the house! We all had fun riding on it and driving to the top of the hill to watch the sunset.

Another view from the house.
There were bible verses throughout their home

Then later that weekend, Andy and I and Seth and Brooxie grilled and had dinner on the back patio!

Tastiest salad I've had all summer!

Best Friends Reunite

Look who came back to Texas to visit!!!! Mr. and Mrs. Russell! I haven't seen them since their wedding day, which was in early August. I can't even believe it has almost been an entire year. This is officially the longest amount of time Allie and I have been apart since I transferred to Baylor in 2010. I never really knew Allie in high school. I thought I did, but it wasn't until I moved in with her at the start of our junior year in college, that I really got to know her.

Living with her taught me so many things- some silly, some serious. Allie taught me to loosen up and to laugh. She taught me to save receipts, and be a bit more frugal. She showed me how to put on mascara so that your eyelash touch all the way up to your eyebrows. She taught me how to properly wash dishes and how not to overload the dishwasher. But the most important lesson that Allie taught me, by just being her lovely self, is to be kind and loving to everyone... no matter what. Her kind, energetic and always positive attitude continues to remind me time and time again that how you act around people really matters and makes a difference. Throughout years I've known Allie she has constantly showed me love, and especially when I needed it most. She has a knack for making serious things feel not so serious, and for turning bad moods into good ones. She knows when to lighten the mood, but also when to sit and hug you and empathize with you!

Our time together was too short, but nevertheless we had a blast catching up. Here are just a few photos from our dinner together.

The most beautiful bride!

Mrs. Fisher please email me this recipe! The cake was to die for!

I will add a few more photos on another post from when we went to the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning. (Allie email the pics you took)
